I’m currently travelling so not able to post as much as I’d like to, but this case caught my eye. A woman by the name of Mariam Yahya Ibrahim has been tried in court and found guilty of apostasy & adultery and sentenced to death.
Now this is just bat-shit crazy. I have ‘questions’ regarding the passing of such judgements/punishments by any court, person, institute, entity but especially by one in a country like mine where those who profess to be the most pious and religious are actually the most morally, ethically and religiously corrupt.
There’s more to Mariam’s story and case than what little we do know, (and i don’t know the ins and outs of her case esp regarding her defence, her detention etc) but one thing’s for sure we cannot remain quiet in the face of such violations.
